Hand washing stations

With the outbreak of Covid 19 and the advice of the WHO that regular hand washing is very effective in slowing the spread of the disease. The Kisima Foundation with support from the Forestry department has built 40 hand washing stations which have been distributed in the area.

The ‘Tippy Taps’ are designed with a simple pedal to regulate the water flow and the 20lt water container is filled with chlorinated water and is refilled twice a week.

Science laboratory and library completed at Subuiga Secondary School

The refurbished science laboratory and library at Subuiga Secondary School were completed in March. The library is fully stocked with a great selection of books and the laboratory has all the basic science equipment.

Kiborione 'Green School'

Kiborione School was our first ‘Green School’ project, an iniative we hope to spread to all of our supported schools. Seventy Five fruit trees have been planted on a plot next to the school kitchen, to provide students with avocados, oranges, bananas, guavas and mangoes. On the 20th November, over 120 parents helped in digging and planting the trees.

Gundua Clinic

In October 1118 patients were treated at the Gundua Clinic, among those were 254 dental treatments.

Students from the Gundua and Kisima Secondary Schools have also started using the clinic through NHIF cover for secondary school students.

Some members from the Swedish organisation Apotek Hjartat also visited the clinic and offered training to the staff.
