About Us
Kisima is an extensive, highly productive, mixed working farm in Timau, Meru County, Kenya. Founded in 1919, and incorporated in 1943, the agribusiness is 100% Kenyan owned and operated. Whilst arable crops and floriculture are the primary focus, Kisima also manages a successful forestry programme and supports numerous thriving community development projects.
Kisima demonstrates leading environmental stewardship, makes optimal use of land under responsible farming practices, and values its reputation as an ethical food producer of national significance. Commitment to Sustainability: Kisima Flower Farm is recognized for its sustainability initiatives, having received the KFC Gold Standard certification and awards for organic waste management and community partnership.

With a firm commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility, Kisima has implemented a range of projects that not only benefit the farm but also uplift the surrounding communities. From education and health to water management and green energy, the flower farm’s sustainability efforts are making a significant impact.
Environmental Conservation: The farm focuses on water conservation, forest protection, and ecosystem support, contributing to local water resource management and running a tree planting program that donated 10,000 seedlings
Educational Support: The farm addresses educational challenges by providing scholarships for vulnerable students, improving school infrastructure, and running a mid-morning breakfast program that benefits 3,000 children, enhancing health and school attendance.
Green Energy and Innovation: Kisima has installed solar panels to meet a significant portion of its energy needs, along with eco-friendly design innovations that reduce energy consumption and promote sustainability in its operations
Healthcare Initiatives: Kisima collaborates with the Gundua Health Centre, which provides essential medical services, immunizations, and health education, significantly impacting the community's well-being.
